First Day of School

Yesterday was Gabe and Sophie's first day of school! They both had a great time, Sophie was very impressed that she gets to have 3 recesses and Gabe was relieved that he still gets 3 recesses. He was pretty sure 1st grade might not since they are really big kids. This morning they both got to ride the bus, which Sophie was very excited about. Of course our bus is driven by my parents wonderful neighbor Millie and is actually a Yukon, but we are so thankful for her since she actually drives up to my door! Last year she pulled some strings to be able to pick up Gabe, since I was having some serious anxiety about him riding a big bus, and I would of had to drive him two miles to the bus stop and that was already halfway to school!

Mary doesn't start school until the 31st, so she is just busy asking me every ten minutes if it is time to go to school yet! Sara pretty much wandered around all day asking, "where my sophie at?"

All in all it was a good day for the kids, but not so much from mom. My grandpa passed away yesterday morning so it was a very emotionally draining day for me. I am so sad and at the same time feel so blessed that he is happy and healthy in heaven and have been blessed enough to have had such a wonderful grandpa for 26 years and that my children really knew their great grandpa! It is always an amazing thing to watch a family pull together and it really reminds you how important family.
